My Beautiful Wife NICOLA JANE DOWNING. Finally lost her cruel yet heroic fight with cancer, three weeks after her 38th birthday on Friday, 1st February 2008. Nicola died at home peacefully in my arms surrounded by the love of all her family and friends. She was an inspiration to everyone who met her. Nicola had strength of character and an infectious and warm personality which touched so many. A truly special lady who is now in peace looking over us. Nicola, you were the perfect mother to Charlie and a devoted loving wife and best friend to me for which I thank you. Doll, we were meant to be together so I will miss you so much.
